Eravikulam National Park, Munnar

Eravikulam National Park is a renowned national park located in the Idukki district of Kerala, India. It spans an area of about 97 square kilometers (37 square miles) and is situated in the Western Ghats, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The park is known for its stunninglandscapes, diverse flora and fauna, and its significance in the conservation of the endangered Nilgiri Tahr.

The park is famous for being the natural habitat of the Nilgiri Tahr (Nilgiritragus hylocrius), a rare and endangered species of mountain goat. Eravikulam National Park plays a crucial role in the conservation and protection of this species. Visitors to the park can observe these magnificent creatures as they roam freely in their natural surroundings.

Eravikulam National Park is characterized by its lush greenery, rolling hills, and winding streams. It is home to a variety of ecosystems, including grasslands, shola forests (high-altitude evergreen forests), and montane rainforests.
